Brigadier General Wharlinton Iván Gualdrón Gualdrón, national chief of the Police Service, delivered the official report of the events, in which he attributed the attack to a terrorist group and announced a multimillion-dollar reward for anyone who can provide information on those responsible for this double murder. "We are using all the capabilities of judicial investigation, intelligence, and special forces to capture those responsible for the sniper shooting that killed our two police officers. We are fully convinced, and we have found material evidence to infer that the perpetrators are the ENL. Together with the governor's office, the mayor's office of Río de Oro, and the National Police, we are offering $200 million to anyone who provides information that will promptly capture those responsible for these two murders."
