For one, an addiction is an addiction. Drug addiction doesn't carry a different meaning than social media addiction. Addiction is dopamine driven. That's the addictive part of addiction.

Secondly, the world doesn't care if you're trying to quit your addiction. Your addiction is personal. You acquired it, by taking the right steps to acknowledging your weakness over it.

Thirdly, your addiction can NEVER be conquered, only arrested. Why? Because addiction thrives on weakness. Humans are inherently weak. Unfortunately, one's EGO tries to prove them wrong. You arrest an addiction, by not playing into it's game. Does "I can quit any time" sound familiar? EGO tells you that. EGO tells you that you're bigger or more powerful than your opponent. Unfortunately, this usually comes from someone who doesn't know their enemy to begin with. You can walk away from a fire to save your life. But that doesn't mean that a fire still can't kill you.

Be humble enough to know there are many things in life that you can't control. But the saving factor of humbleness, is it's ability to reach out to others. Instead of telling a world that doesn't give a fuck about your peace and tranquility, go to a support group that understands that exposing your mistakes and learning from others, is the source of your own tranquility. Believe me, you'll never acquire "this tranquility" on your own. You acquire it, by knowing that you don't have to fight your addiction alone. From this point, the fear of it diminishes or is completely gone. This is where you gain control of your life. But this control comes from others, who have shared similar experiences, along with your own. This will keep you humble. Humility tells you you're not perfect. And that you can learn from your mistakes, and come out the other side a better person for it. (gee, and help others too) However EGO, never makes a mistake. It'll convince a person that they're always bigger than their enemy. Even when the enemy is themselves.
