According to police information, two suspects reacted during the operation by firing gunshots at the police officers. In the shootout, one of the suspects, identified as “Diego”, was shot. He was taken to a local hospital, but did not survive his injuries. During the operation, the police seized a 9 mm pistol that was in the suspect’s possession. According to the State Secretariat for Public Security, the suspect had five police records, including involvement in drug trafficking and threats.
