It all happened in the Boa Esperança neighborhood, at a time when the five and eight-year-old children were at home hungry and went looking for money in their 26-year-old father's things. The children found 50 kwanzas and bought bread. When the young man arrived home, he realized that the boys had gone through his belongings and taken the money that was kept there. The man called the minors, took them to the kitchen and placed the children's right hands on the stove, causing them serious injuries, according to DIIP spokesperson Quintino Ferreira. Given the seriousness of the situation, the family reported it to the authorities and officers from the Criminal Investigation and Offences Department (DIIP) went to the scene and arrested the accused. The father who burned his children's hands was sent to the guarantee judge and will answer for the crime of domestic violence.
