A female motorcyclist, identified by the initials DA (23), died at the scene after being involved in a collision with a container truck. The tragic incident happened at around 4:15 PM local time and briefly caused traffic congestion around the location. Police officers from the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of Bandung Police immediately arrived at the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation. The Head of Traffic Law Enforcement Unit (Kanit Gakkum) of Satlantas Polresta Bandung, IPTU Liliem, confirmed the accident. According to her, the incident involved one container truck and one motorcycle. "Yes, that's correct. The incident occurred at around 4:15 PM. We immediately conducted a scene investigation. The vehicles involved were a container truck and a motorcycle. One motorcyclist died," said IPTU Liliem when contacted. Based on preliminary findings at the scene, the accident began when DA was riding her motorcycle from Baleendah toward Dayeuhkolot. While traveling on Jalan Raya Dayeuhkolot, she attempted to overtake the container truck from the left lane. However, during the overtaking maneuver, she allegedly lost balance and fell toward the large vehicle. "The motorcyclist fell, and there was contact between the motorcyclist's body and the front left wheel of the container truck," Liliem explained. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Officers later evacuated the body to Welas Asih Hospital in Baleendah, Bandung Regency. "Yes, the motorcyclist with initials DA died at the scene," she emphasized. The accident caused temporary traffic congestion on Jalan Raya Dayeuhkolot. Several vehicles formed long queues as many residents stopped to look at the incident. "There was indeed traffic congestion, but it did not last long. We immediately managed traffic flow, and conditions returned to normal," Liliem concluded. As of now, police are still conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident, including questioning the container truck driver and several witnesses at the scene.
