I think they had little to do with "ABBA". There were plenty of groups like them in the 1970's, just take "Shocking Blue" (Venus), formed in 1967. At that point the 'ABBAs' were still in school! "The New Seekers" (Beg, Steal or Borrow) came in 1969, as well as "Brotherhood of Man" (Save Your Kisses for Me), starring the amazing Tony Burrows, the most successful, unknown singer of all time, leadsinger of "The Kestrels", "The Flower Pot Men", "Edison Lighthouse", "White Plains", "The Pipkins", "First Class", "The Ivy League" and of course "Brotherhood of Man". Sometimes he was singing in the top ten with three groups at the same time! THAT no one else has done until today. . .
