The crime took place last Saturday night (9). Security camera footage shows when the victim, armed with a machete, and the author, in possession of the firearm, run towards each other, when the shots are fired. The case happened around 9 pm on Saturday on Avenida Floresta, in the center of Itapaci. According to the Military Police (PM), the suspect was crossing the avenue when he and the victim, Douglas Pereira de Sousa, passed closely, almost touching the vehicles. The fact would have triggered an argument between them. At one point, Douglas reportedly got out of his car armed with a machete, near a gas station, and headed towards the author. The two argue and, as shown in the security camera footage, they make mention of attacking each other, when the man fires several shots at Douglas, who died at the scene. The report found that the suspect in the crime presented himself to the Civil Police last Sunday (10), and tries to confirm the information with the institution.
