According to witnesses, Arias entered the pool area and, for reasons still unclear, ended up submerged and unable to get out. According to the video, the young man was holding a knife, so bystanders did not immediately enter the water. Arias died at the scene before receiving medical attention. After learning of the incident, National Police authorities , along with emergency units, went to the scene to remove the body and begin the corresponding investigation. Officers indicated that evidence and interviews are being gathered to determine exactly how the events occurred. The tragic event has shocked residents of the area, who expressed surprise and shock upon learning what had happened.
