@0ppel I can understand that machete attacks can look like this, however, if you look at the cuts, its a lot finer than a blade. With a machete, you generally see more tearing and where the cut ends, its more jagged. Usually machete cuts are not single cuts, but multiple cuts. I believe he was probably leaning slightly forward. Usually, the string is loose and it gets pulled and tightens quickly. You're talking about a person riding a motorcycle, so it doesn't take much for the string to move relative to the person and its that movement which slices. Again, I'm relying on the descriptions and I believe its consistent with the razor wires. If you ever got cut with 10 or 20lb 4 carrier spectra line, you know how quickly it can cut especially if the line is moving. I've been cut very deeply by the lines during fishing and these are just regular spectra without the glass powder. It will get down to bone in no time once the line tightens up.

The wire you mentioned here in Brazil is called "cerol", I think what probably happened was that he was riding a motorcycle and was unlucky enough to cut himself with the "cerol wire", children and teenagers use these cutting wires with glass to play with kites here in Brazil, this type of accident is super common.

@desensitized It's mostly third world country such as India, Pakistan, Brazil and many other Asian countries. In the old days, they tie razor blades to kite string to cut off other kites. It's illegal in India since 2016 but its still very commonly used. Even if it was banned, they can use regular kite string and apply the glass powder on it themselves. You should look up "Manja kite string" on Google and see what it looks like and how its done. Kite fighting is a big sport among people in the cities. The problem is so bad that during "kite season", motorcyclists have "anti-kite" devices around their motorcycles to keep the string off their faces so they don't get decapitated while they drive.

@desensitized Look up "Manja" kite string. Its basically a string with glass embedded in it that is used for combat kite flying. The goal is to cut each other's kite off to win. Usually the line falls down and people are killed all the time by it. At least three people a day die from it. Usually they are motorcycle drivers that hits the line as they are driving. It's known to decapitate people and cut their necks.
