The man in the video was found dead, suspected of having set himself on fire, in Barangay Pugaro, Manaoag on January 4, around 5:20 p.m. The victim was a car mechanic and a resident of Barangay Botao, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

According to the PNP report, a parking attendant/caretaker discovered a motorcycle parked in a parking area, which led him to search for the owner. During his search, he reached a grassy area near the Virgin's Well, where he found a burnt corpse.

Upon investigation, a cellphone was recovered at the scene. The phone contained a video recorded by the victim around 11:42 a.m. that day, showing him intentionally pouring a gallon of gasoline over his body and then setting himself on fire. The incident is believed to have been motivated by serious family problems.
