The video details an interaction with 34-year-old Brandon Lopez after investigators observed him driving a vehicle that was reported stolen in Anaheim. Lopez also had outstanding warrants for armed robberies, domestic violence, and driving on a suspended license. The stolen vehicle is shown attempting to flee marked patrol cars and driving dangerously through parts of Santa Ana and Tustin. The video also shows an ensuing standoff in Santa Ana with the Santa Ana Police Department and later the Anaheim Police Department. After four hours of attempted negotiation, Lopez was fatally shot in an officer-involved shooting involving Anaheim Police. Lopez emerged from the car after police fired gas into the vehicle to force Lopez out and end the hours-long standoff, footage showed he was holding a narrow, black object which officers believed to be a gun.
